Epilepsy healed with food & Exercise

SCOTT SOMMER’S healing story (From sommersholistichealth.com)

Early Years:

Scott started his journey in health at an early age. His father was an organic farmer, so Scott spent many days helping his dad on the farm and in the garden.  At 18 months old, Scott was diagnosed with Epilepsy, and his parents did their best to help Scott battle his disease through diet.  At the age of nine, he was told by a doctor that "if he didn't fix it" he would never live a normal life.  So, Scott went home depressed and prayed, asking God to show him how to heal his own brain, promising God if he could remove the disease from his own brain, he would spend the rest of his life helping others do the same.

Curing His Disease:

Scott’s parents were diligent about Scott's diet using food as medicine to battle his Epilepsy from the inside out. His diet included healthy fats, such as nuts and avocados to help repair the brain. At age 15, he was declared free from Epilepsy.

Education:

Scott attended UC Davis in 1994 pursuing medicine to become an M.D.  Yet, during the course of his studies he realized Western Medicine does not teach nutrition, nor does it consider food as medicine.  Right before taking the MCAT, he was in the library at U.C. Davis and picked up a book about Ancient Medicine and how it worked for 5000 years.  He read that book for 4 hours, and then changed his major to Nutrition, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree, then moving on in 1994 to get his Master's in Ancient Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, Ca.

Beginnings in Healing Others:

Scott began his practice in downtown Sacramento in 1998.  In addition to working in his growing practice, he worked with Sacramento County as a Detox Specialist treating prisoners and developing the first Detox Protocol for the county. While treating patients in downtown Sacramento he began his pursuit in muscle response testing, and received another degree in Advanced Clinical Training in Nutrition Response Testing through Ulan Nutritional Systems in Florida.
